Similarities between Angkor Wat, Banteay Samre.
Banteay Samre Temple is a magnificent temple located in the Angkor area of Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is a restored temple modeled on the style of Angkor Wat. 🇰🇭
Banteay Samre temple is located east of the Yasodharatdak baray] (East baray) and is about 2 km south of pradak village on the south side of the road from Pradak to Phnom Bok. No stone inscriptions have been found about the temple yet. According to its decoration and art style, the construction of Banteay Samre was probably at the end of the 11th century during the reign of Suryavarman II (1113-1150) and was completed during the reign of King Sovarman II (1150). -1165) also.
There are a number of other temples in the Angkor area that were built during the same period, such as Chao Say Tevta, Boeung Mealea, Tep Pranom , and two more temples in present-day Thailand. During the same period, Phimai and Phnom Rong temples were very similar to Banteay Samre temple. Like Angkor Wat, Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre were built to be dedicated to the Brahmin religion of Narayan.
